Patrick and his parents called up the Beach House shop a little bit back and asked if they knew anyone who could help him shape his first board for his 11th birthday...the task got offered to me and I got pretty stoked, Patrick is a SUPER nice kid and surfs really well all over sb. A well deserved birthday present!
So aaanyways, we designed the thing on the AKU shaper program and had it machine cut so I could just give him a few pointers along the way to his new stick...he took care of business and here's what we came up with for his mackin' 65 lb frame:
P and his new 6'3!

There is a chance that YOU own this here hull and don't even know it yet.
Some spouses are radical and secretly buy their awesome counter-spouses killer things and let me do whatever I want with the sweet art. Thanks radical spouses for allowing me to play with paper and scissors to pay the bills.
The word awesome should be in here. there. done.

@ Byron Bay last week...
So the sun has set on my Ozsault.
Connor has stayed behind in Noosa to dip his wick a bit more in their warm waters and bask in the more than palpable air of love and prosperity; Miles is still down under as well; however I have returned to Herbie and a buttload of emails to return, if I'm slow I apologize, I'm doin my best to get back to you all in the next day :)
I can't even begin to express my gratitude for everyone who I met along the journey, I knew leaving that it would be something to remember, but I had no idea it would affect me as deeply as it has. The amount of support that i ran across daily all over the coast from travelers, shapers, artists, surfers and blog followers blew my mind.
It's one thing to see that hundreds of people per day are on this thing but to meet them 100% by chance in a totally foreign place on mysterious beaches has really tripped me out. To put faces to what used to be numbers is a very humbling experience and I'm filled with gratitude and appreciation for everyone who continues to support what I do, even if its just flash on my blog once or twice a week!
I'm feeling like I have a new direction in life and everyone that we happened upon along the way has played a large part in it, so thank you. from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Here's an 8'6" that's captured my imagination here in oz...lots of inspiration from this place oozing into the planer for this one. More details soon, feel like i've stumbled upon a very very fun sled with this one, like a she hull/d.bowls/evolution/transitional board on crack.

Connor Miles and I are hanging out in Byron Bay with Jordan Noble who shapes Note surfboards and Jesse Watson (Black Apache Surfboards) up at Currumbin...HEAPS of hospitality and love, it's a truly amazing community here that is living an existence daily that so many think is impossible.
oh yeah, and Rich Pavel is the MAN. some amazing moments of conversation with him over here and I couldn't be any more enthused by his zen like surf wisdom!
here's part of the conversation at the Fish Fry night @ the museum. give it a GOOD listen:
