Suggestion Box

I'm brainstorming on what board to offer up as the deal of the month next month for you kids...send me an email at Ryan@Pointconceptsurf.com, or comment on this post and give me a suggestion or two as to what YOU'D like to see for next month;

Whichever type of board gets the most suggestions will likely be the one...
fishies, hulls, kneeboards, stubbies, they're all fair game.

so........get to it....comment away.

Local

Byron Bay

I got a nice email today from some kind people down in Byron Bay, they have a site thats updated every day with local surf shots and the likes.
I thought I'd post up a link for anyone who wants to see whats goin' on daily in the other hemisphere!

Ghost over the Home tab at the top of the page and check out their blog for the updates...and check out the main shot for May 25th...I'm considering a move.

Tikcuf

Maybe I should have taken my spillage out sooner, but...eh...it worked out...

My resin floor weighed about 300lbs when I removed it yesterday.

Centerfold

Okay...so they don't look that pretty to the untrained eye...But spend a few hours in the shaping room with one of these and you'll figure out pretty quickly that there is no flat point in the whole board; every curve blends into the next, twisting and sinking around the whole of it.

All of the curves make for a very very interesting a (to me) beautiful shape.

This one in particular is a 5'5" for Nick M.
also check out:
and his Twin
...some people have a knack for ordering really, really neat boards.

3'fer

Halona's spanky little 5'7 quad...white pigment w/yellow/black/gray swirlgasm.

This is why I enjoy glassing all of my own boards!!! ^

6'5 OG., 7'6 She

The 6'5 is a copy of my old magic purple board that I sold in desperate times...The origins of the Gull lie deep inside that shape, but this version has much thicker rails and a different hull shape that held up in anything from ankle high beachbreak to well overhead slabby things...how I do miss my old purple bullet.
PS- those side boxes are so it can be ridden with keels...

Sometimes I get mad at the boards and start drilling random holes.

Blogging Buddies

My buddy Dave @ Almond Surfboards posted this sequence of Nathan Adams a few days back; I'm stoked on it and Nathan is a really cool kid, so here I figured I'd post it for you guys that havnen't checked our Dave's Blog recently!

C.Malloy B-Roll

Surf Talk B roll w/Chris Malloy

AWOL

My blogging and contact-ability or lack there of has been sub-par lately, I've noticed too, and i apologize!

BECAUSE; I've been mowing copious amounts of foam daily, then following that nice feeling with a light drip-bath in multi-colored resin...my backlog of boards is finally beginning to feel like less of a task as each board gets closer; this week will see a 5'7 fish, a 6'5 OG hull (story on that later!), a 7'6 She, a 6'1 winged pin, aaaaaand a 7' Hullibut...and that's all in the past three days...many more hulls and oddities to come after those as well!

Also, on the night of April 1st, Raph and I will be having a Timberline show opening at a lounge/restaurant/bar here in town called Roy; it'll be swanky I'm sure...I'll put up more info on that one soon.

In other news, my shaping anniversary/birthday is coming up on sunday, I'll be heading down to malibu with some hulls, some friends, and some snacks...come one come all; we will be eating opossums all day long.

Met a really cool guy named Dave at the Sacred Craft show, we were talking hulls when he whipped out a really neat old photo of him and Greenough from back in the day....very, very cool:
