I previously mentioned a 9'6 chambered balsa wood d.Bowls...

here it is :)

9'6" x 23 x 3 1/8" and weighs in around 35 lbs...outrageous glide potential is held within.

Unchambered (I do the chambering after it's rough shaped) balsa blanks resemble...well...a big block of wood, about 1/4" of rocker nose and tail, and a dead flat deck.  Meaning that fully hand-shaped balsa boards from unchambered blanks are truly special and to me, works of art.  I'm proud to have finished my first...

it IS up for grabs, if you were wondering.

and it got the same stamp that I always put in my boards, but this time hammered in, instead of pushed by thumb.......ha!

there's something seriously amazing about building and riding surfboards....and sheet glass mini-tubes with one other person out.

got some super duper fun waves yesterday with some good friends, then cruised back north and surfed a spot that RARELY breaks and had some really fun little knee high zippers with some backwash and a dead seal on the beach, reminding us of the name of the spot and the warning that is in effect for swimmers/surfers right now...haha....hm............

E. Humel's 7'4" (x 22 3/4" x 2 3/4") Vampire, requested with uber foiled rails...been a little while since I've gotten that request so I was chompin' at the bit to finish this one!

I'm so happy with it, the blood redish color that Connor and I did on 'er came out beautifully, this board has it goin' ON!  I'm all fired up to make myself a new one now...damn :)

Experimentation on/in/around the finless realm; i find what Derek Hynd is doing to be the most relevant and positive influence in surfing today.  Without getting too poetic, he's blowing my mind.
