A visit to True Ames fins out in Goleta never, ever, disappoints...The first time I went in there I had a wee heart attack, so many fins, so many sizes, such a beautiful sight!

Better To Burn Out
I find this performance rather captivating; I'm not assuming that everyone who checks in on this here blog loves Neil Young, but if you do, or if you just wanna jam out, give this one a go...some pretty good Neil Younging goin' on.

Rotule Downhillin' x2
A few months back, we met some unreal guys from Quebec that build downhill longboards under the name Rotule Longboards.
Connor, Jason, Trevor and I toured them around the mountains for a few days until they pressed onwards in their car-venture through the western half of the US...check their stuff out, and peep the vid, I shot much of it while they layed down the carves aaaaaaaaaal day long.

Publication Fail
This little ditty in Surfing Mag trashing alternative boards looks to have type-cast their 'brand' a bit here (at least in my eyes). I'm not sure how bashing a well-liked, super friendly shredder in a world-wide publication was a good idea.
The part that's got me is that there is a valid point there, in the last paragraph, that sums up the whole article and makes perfect sense. It's common sense, even: Don't ride that type of board in draining reef passes if you want the most bang for your buck design-wise. duh. But why spend all that energy and time saying that very simple fact with such a condescending and pointed tone? Especially at such a nice dude.
Make sure to check the comments section for a bit of the entertainment:

Today Feels Like:
Seriously though, today has been the sweetest day. She's risen out of the ashes of what was supposed to be a day in traffic court...then I got an extension and was out the door before 8:00am. win.
It's now 11:15 and I've already walked a healthy amount, worked on three wood boards, gotten well dusty, spent time with very dear-to-me people, caught up on my emails, eaten some tasty cranberries and now I'm going to glass the afternoon away in the boatyard with Connor after eating the best chicken quesadilla Santa Barbara has to offer under $2.89.
This. This is a very good day.

Lust and Glory
This picture trips me the flip out.
I remember watching this wave winding down the point unmolested by the swarming herds of belly-shredders and frothing-foot-standers, nobody touched it; Pure blown glass.
When it spit, a rainbow appeared. It literally schpit rainbows, thats how wonderful it was.
