Continued work from yesterday.
Came up on a 1/2" thick fin panel at the True Ames warehouse, Chuck let me take it off his hands for my kneelo fin...so I got to grinding this afternoon for a bit...the panel is a friggin BEAST compared to a normal one!
The foil is pushed up towards the leading edge quite a bit more than a 'normal' fin, the flex is more of a downward sweep from the center than a wagging tip like most flex fins...if that makes any sense.

I've got a flex spoon of my own that I felt was too flexible (broke a rail grabbing it to duck under a wave.) I added more than enough glass to it thinking I would grind down to the right flex. I got it all glassed up and started grinding and quickly realize I didn't know what I was shooting for. When you get to that stage I'd really like to hear what and why for all your grinding actions. Thanks

i literally have not been able to think of anything else.......i just spent the morning grinding with a 36 grit hard pad...i dont understand why i actually LIKE this stuff.
anyways, im PUMPED, added a few layers of glass just ahead of the fin to stiffen it a tad, i may do a few more if I can get some more uni-directional s-glass...that stuff worked wonders on a PG spoon i worked on last year.
Ride before you sand. Promise.
What feels really stiff on land is a completely different animal under body weight on a steep face.
Sand for flex after you ride it as a sled.
First hand experience. Ended up adding carbon lams to stiffen because Verde was bending too much in turns.

i left the tail at 10 layers thick, the only grinding so far was to fair in the layers........final photos for you cats soon!!!!
